ABOUT ME

I'm a mum to two young children. Before training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked within the NHS as a doctor. After leaving the NHS, I chose to retrain after experiencing for myself how incredibly powerful and beneficial counselling can be.

I love what I do as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I believe in working with the person, not the label. I want to get to know you and what your life and your world is like for you. Each day, I feel extremely privileged that my clients let me into their worlds in the therapy room.

I'm fairly gentle as a person, but I'm always honest. I'm not afraid to ask the difficult questions, and to challenge you at times.

When I'm not counselling, I'm usually running around after my children. Whenever possible I can be found in a forest, on a beach, or up a hill. I'm a big believer in the healing power of exercise and of being out in nature.

I am a professionally accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that my work has been assessed and has met their higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. My practice is monitored by a fully-qualified clinical supervisor. I am registered with the ICO (data protection and control), and I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
